When I heard about pinterest, I said “Oh shit”!

Not like the Oh Shit wake up, but like “oh shit, I better stay away from this or I’ll never get anything done”.  So after a few hours wasted dabbling on pinterest last summer, I couldn’t see why it would help me with my business.

Now, after doing some fancy research ( thanks google and mashable!) hearing from some trusted sources, and finding my own fun in using pinterest, I’ve realized that Pinterest has a huge potential to help me  and you grow our businesses with purpose AND lots of fun.

I’ve come up with 6 key ways that you can use Pinterest to interact with customers and clients and use it as a fun tool to position yourself, add credibility, and engage your tribe. You’ll really want to watch this video because I also sing a lil song I wrote for you…

Prevent the Oh-Shit Wake up: Emails in the AM

{ 10 comments }

by Lauren Sheehan on April 3, 2012

Oh Shit! It’s time to wake up!

I’ve got to get this done and that done, I’m freaked out about making money, I’m not good enough….

And your day starts off feeling like a frozen, shit-storm of worry, doubt, fear, anxiety, and tension.

I realized the Oh SHit wake up was hurting me a while ago, so I’ve been taking steps to prevent it from happening and I have a few tips about what’s worked for me. This is important because the Oh Shit wake up used to totally ruin my whole day, make me feel terrible about myself and I’d not get anything done that day.

My first big step was to JUST SAY NO to checking my email first thing in the AM. I developed this habit the second I got my iphone years ago and over the last year or so, I’ve realized what a nasty habit it is. Getting on technology, whether it be my iphone or my computer just sucked me straight into work and or worry, and I would completely forget to take care of my self. Can you relate?

This week’s video shares some tips about how to get over your email AM habit and kick the Oh Shit wake up’s ass for good.

How do you get over the Oh-Shit Wake up??

Leave me a comment below!

  • Are you gonna kick your email checkin’ habit in the AM to the curb?
  • What else contributes to our Oh Shit wake up?

Do you love ? Share the biz tip pic with your friends!

Spring is starting to happen here in Austin and the wildflowers look BEAUTIFUL!

I hope you are all enjoying the springtime energy where ever you are (unless of course you’re in the southern hemisphere).

You’ve probably heard me say once or twice that presenting is the way I make about 90% of my income. And to clarify, that’s not because I get paid to speak (yet). My pay-day comes at the end of a presentation when the people in the room want to work with me.

When I first started presenting, I had no experience and not much training ( and I wasn’t really getting checks handed to me either). I’m happy to say that now I’ve gotten so good at presenting that not only is my income growing,  I was able to teach this and help a client get 80% of the room to sign up and pay her THAT day for her program with some pretty simple tools.

So when I saw this question pop through my survey from last week, I had to answer it. It’s all about how to be a badass presenter when you have no experience. Watch this week’s video for my top 4 tips on presenting when you have no experience and they might surprise you.

Leave me some love yall cause I wanna know:
1) How will this help you in your next presentation?
2) What presenting advice would you give to someone with no experience?

Hope this helps you a LOT!

Much love,

Lauren

How much of YOU should you put into your business?

This can be a touchy subject for a lot of entrepreneurs and times are a changin’.

For example, Back in the day (before facebook and the rise of social media) it was acceptable to use stock photography and any random photos for their blogs, websites, and marketing materials or worse, to not even have photos.

Social media brought us this question and encouraged us to desire this one thing: “WHO ARE YOU?” and it forever more made the idea of hiding behind random people in stock images totally irrelavant.

If we don’t know who you are, we don’t want it. Simple as that.

Authenticity, Integrity, Transparency…. all words that are becoming increasingly important in the way you present your business and your personal brand.

You are your first and most important brand, and it’s important that you know how to amplify yourself so that you can be that magnetic powerful and feminine leader.

This week’s Badass Biz Chick video answers these questions and I share a very powerful tool for figuring out what is super magnetic about you. Plus I share something really vulnerable for me towards the end of the video.

Watch this weeks BBC video now!

I wanna know your thoughts!

 Leave me a comment:

  • How will this lesson help you in your business this week?
  • What are your biggest assets that make you really magnetic?
  • How do you amplify your personality in your brand?
