Win 3 months of Biz coaching + a ticket to the Authentic Speaker weekend intensive

by Lauren Sheehan on November 6, 2011

I’m in the middle of putting together an program to help all of you who feel a calling to empower and lead others; to share a message with the world about your passions and life lessons. It’s a business school for women on a mission, who have the courage to step up and do the inner and outer work necessary to create the lives of their dreams and who want to do it all the authentic feminine way, rather than the “I should do it this way” or “I need to do it like her” way.

There is so much information out there these days about internet marketing and business strategy… and it can be exhausting. One of the biggest problems I see these days with women in business is that they don’t have a strong presence and they don’t know how to think like an entrepreneur. Well, this post is my answer to that.

I have tons of ideas and have done lots of research learning from mentors, books, and clients, but I want to really make sure that I can help you all answer the questions to the biggest challenges that you have around creating a profitable business from your life’s message and passion and doing it in a spiritually grounded, feminine way that is POWERFUL and effective.

So I’m having a contest and I want to know your biggest challenges in being a heart centered, feminine, business woman.

To enter the contest, I just require that you have the courage and desire to commit to yourself and this process ( and read the directions below).  Whether you already have a very clear idea of your business or message but you feel stuck  or your message or business isn’t fully baked yet but you feel the calling and are ready to move forward, I’m here to help!

I’m looking for those of you who want to play a larger role in this world; those of you who want to inspire others and change the world right along with me! I can’t wait to see your entries and work with you more closely! Watch the video for more details

Hello! I’m so excited to hear about your program to empower women! Congratulations on your success!
My name is Gayla Allen, owner and founder of My Texas Smile. 10 months ago I opened my first “Smile Spa” and now have 3 locations in Austin, Texas.
I’m proud of my little business, but I have huge goals to grow and expand without a clear understanding of how I will make them happen! I am a believer in the Power of Attraction and well read on the subject, but I know that something is still missing from my path to success.
I’ve been advised from successful business women that one thing I must do is public speaking and presenting. This scares me to death! AND I know I must do it anyway.
If I were to learn how to present myself to the public I could have influence over the growth of my business which would then give me the money and time to have a greater influence to many people.
So my challenge is how do I overcome my fear of presenting and then how do I start getting my message out there. It must be fun and entertaining, insightful and inspiring, motivating and powerful!
I would LOVE it if people reached out to me for my time because I could deliver what they want and need. How do we start? Good luck to you! Gayla Allen, http://www.mytexassmile.com | 512-809-6398 | admin@mytexassmile.com

I am Hillary Arrieta, massage therapist, instructor, reiki master and soon to be yoga therapist, as well as the owner of Gaia’s massage and bodywork in Richardson TX.
My message is simple: to inspire people to take care of themselves and experience full healthy lives through bodywork. I would love to work with women through yoga therapy to help them connect deeply with themselves and others and release old unhealthy thinking and holding patterns so that they can love and be fullfilled in their lives.
My biggest challenge right now is finding clairity in how to mesh all my skills together so that I can utilize all of them and reach my mission. Also finding confidence in marketing, overcoming feelings of unworthiness, fear of failure, and self doubt.
When I work through my challenges, I will be THE go to person in my area for massage and bodywork (yoga, reiki etc) I will author a book for reiki practioners and help mainstream reiki. I will have income that is easily obtained and I will travel and have time with my wonderful, loving husband.
Thank you for this opportunity. I hope to be the winner!

1. Petalwork Enterprises is the parent company of two diverse companies. Petals for Healing, originally the LMT part of my career, has evolved into Wellness products, including doTERRA Essential Wellness, and reiki-infused hand-crafted jewelry. Bridges Into Being is the new service company. We help people interested in a wellness life style integrate new energy into their life styles so they may experience premium quality of life.

Teaching classes is the goal; seeing individual clients is one way to start. Recently certified in doTERRA’s AromaTouch Technique, I will soon be teach classes and introducing people to doTERRA through this delightful modality. Today I completed an Adult Learner’s class necessary to complete a Massage Therapy Instructor [MTI] license.

2. My biggest challenges are A) speaking in front of groups [more than 2 people at at time]. B) updating my websites so they work for me, including simplifying the process. I like working on-line, yet once this all takes off, I won’t have as much time for that. My website is steadily losing me money: it doesn’t even pay for itself in fees. C) I need paying customers, minimum 3 per week, with a commitment to grow their wellness, preferably with on-going appointments. Not creating the clientele will cause me to have to retreat to Corporate America for employment which is not my Life Path. Helping people learn and heal is my Life Path.

3. Completing this challenge with your help, Lauren, will allow me to life more fully so that I may assist many individuals and companies in the art of self-care, empowered quality of life, and take this mission to the very corners of this World.

Please help me, Lauren, step into my Life Path and my future with honor, pride, self-assurance and dignity. Enjoy your day!

My life vision is to lead women to become the best possible version of themselves. Whether they are driven to be a successful professional or a stay at home mom, making positive choices for change in their life can lead them to the life of our dreams.
I really need your help. I have been working my business for almost 3 years now and can’t seem to secure clients. Lots of women are interested or love getting my free goodies, but no one is willing to pay me for my services. My grandmother tried to make a living at this same profession and it never came to fruition before her early death. I feel her presence with me now, cheering me on to make a difference in the lives of women everywhere – to make choices that lead to their best, most authentic lives.
I see myself coaching and public speaking. I want to write books and conduct seminars and confereneces. I have so many ideas but none of them seem to work out. It’s like I’m dialing the phone but no one is picking up PLEASE help!!!

Hi Lauren!!
It’s Paula Rose here! Thank you for this amazing opportunity. I admire your work and would love to actually work with you, and even meet You, Rachael Jayne and Datta Groover.

My business message and idea is a little unclear to me, although I believe strongly that men & women can have fulfilling relationships, women can be completely in-love with themselves and in-love with their man the way they were in the beginning, or even more.

I had a website to start ‘relationship coaching’ but never really had a coaching plan or clients so that dwindled away. I am also in the middle of writing a book (although my confidence in writing it is really really lacking so I keep putting it off).

I would love to somehow do kinda like what you are doing- speaking, posting videos, gathering women, a web presence, creating programs, possibly coaching others and doing women’s groups. I would also like to continue my book.

My problems are: I know I have the knowledge but I lack confidence. I don’t know where to start. I stop myself. I fear getting ‘too big’ and I wonder…if I can do it at all. My biggest fear ever though, is that I do nothing with the gifts, skills and talents I have been given; that I will continue to do ‘nothing’ for another 10 years and regret the impact I could have made in the women, and relationship world. I’m only 31 and know I still have a fighting chance.

This mentoring would be a great benefit to me, but also to many many other women out there who struggle with loving themselves and enjoying a deep, rewarding and meaningful relationship!

Thank lauren!
Love Paula Rose

Dawn Gibson November 11, 2011 at 8:59 pm

Hello Lauren! Thank you for this opportunity!

1. My name is Dawn Gibson and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in the mental health field for 13 years as a psychotherapist, counselor, case manager, social worker, and preschool director. I am finally following my soul purpose and passion in life that has been six years coming! I am creating a business called Mindful Mothering. I will work mainly with pregnant and postpartum women in the first year postpartum. I will provide individual counseling and coaching and will facilitate a multitude of support groups. I know what my message is but haven’t figured out how to present it succinctly. My message is really about consciously parenting, creating connections (between mom and baby, as well as with other women and themselves), and seeing the world change one child at a time as a result. My belief is that women are not supposed to go through this period alone and many women do not think they can be honest about how they are really feeling/coping during this time. I want to create a safe, open, and authentic environment for women to speak the difficult truths about motherhood and obtain support. I also want to educate women about infant brain development, and the importance of attachment and mindfulness/presence when pregnant and mothering.
2. I do believe in the Law of Attraction and have manifested many things in my life. However, although I have the knowledge and skills, I sometimes get stuck in fear in terms of promoting myself, speaking in public, wondering if clients will come, wondering if I need more training (anything to stall taking action). I am clear about where to network, but not sure how to start the process of connecting with these people to get my groups started or to bring in individual clients.
3. I see myself with a thriving part-time practice where I still have time for my three young children, writing a book or more, providing training to other professionals and groups of women, developing a new model for moms to follow in terms of being/connecting with their babies early in the child’s life (not sure what this looks like yet).

My website won’t be up until the end of next week and I move into my office on Monday. Again, thank you so much for allowing us the chance to win this amazing opportunity!!

Warmly,
Dawn

I am a woman who is in the process of rebuilding my life to become happier and grow into the woman I know I can be; to be full of positive energy, neglects the negativity and focuses on my dreams and goals. My ultimate objective is to be a Power Seller on Ebay, to reach out to women and make them love what they buy, and help them save money while I make money on my own, and possibly even put up a store one day. My biggest challenge is overcoming people who don’t take me seriously.

Hi Lauren,
Thank you for this great offer. I’ve made a 2min (+ 5 secs!) video on YouTube introducing myself which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh2PDuh_7xs

And… I also made a 5 min video too which looks clearer but is longer (I thought I knew what 2mins felt like!)…..if you’ve the time you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81CoYQ-0UOg

I am Jane Cormack and currently live in Scotland but travel & have travelled extensively. I help women to connect through the heart, to their feminine essence & to their creative source with the tools of creative expression.

I’ve experienced and done so many things in my life that I brought them all together in a unique way.

My biggest challenge is creating a very clear, strong & focused brand with good marketing using easy to use technology. I have a lot of online information that doesn’t feel cohesive to me & I would love & appreciate support in clarifying & creating a strong online presence that also does not feel limiting.

I’m constantly inspired with ideas and feel that a solid online platform is necessary to support the growth of my business & sharing my message & joy with the world on a global scale.

I am also working with and developing video & speaking. Presenting & speaking from the heart is a skill I would like to develop.

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge and information with people all over North America, and having the generosity to offer this program.

I’ve always known that I wanted to “play a larger role” in my community. The question is, “why haven’t i?”

….For the first time in my life, I am ready to admit that the reason I haven’t actually taken that step despite having some really good ideas and some support, is because I am afraid of failing. Fear is absolutely what is holding me back. I could definitely use some help with marketing and the business side of things, however it is my fear of failure that has not yet allowed me to move forward in a way that I know can benefit my community and Canada as a whole.

I am a mental health and addictions counselor here in Ottawa, ON (Canada). I absolutely love my work and wouldn’t change it for the world. It’s the kind of job that I wake up in the morning and am excited to get to, that I can’t believe I get paid to do. I have worked for a variety of organizations though none with the zest for life, the passion I have burning inside me, and the bigger picture clear in my mind. I’ve recently decided to go out on my own offering counseling services to men and women in my community, with some focus on immigrants and on a sliding scale. I know that I can be successful because I am offering the kind of holistic services not typically available in my community.

During the last 3 years, I have consciously participated in educational and community opportunities to gain knowledge and education in areas that would allow me to work with the “whole” person. I have taken courses in Nutrition, Personal Training, Thai Yoga Massage, Mind & Body Wellness and Life Skills Coaching.
Through this training and these courses, I am able to offer each of the modalities noted above in one place rather than having a client repeat their story several times to a variety of practitioners. What I have seen in my previous work, and experienced personally, is that people will sometimes choose not to engage in various modalities because of the shame and guilt they feel around whatever their issue is.

In addition to this, because its directly related to the work I am doing in addictions, I have been working on researching another project during the last year. In my work specifically within addictions, I have discovered that we are lacking in an area of supportive and healthy housing, especially for women. In the US, you have something called Sober living Environments or SLE’s. In addition to working as a counselor on my own as I have noted above, one of my other goals is to open Canada’s first sober living environment. While I’ve got some good supports financially (investors), I feel like I am lacking courage. Again, I can finally acknowledge that I am afraid of failure. In reading about you and what you are proposing, you may be an angel sent from above….

Thanks for taking the time do read this!
Take wonderful care!

Debra Butler November 15, 2011 at 10:59 pm

My name is Debra Butler and I’ve been in the health and wellness field for 4 years. My passion is emotional well being and it’s importance to physical health. I truly believe if we don’t love and accept ourselves then we don’t believe that we deserve to be healthy. We will always have an excuse or something holding us back from being authentic and creating the life we desire.

I’ve spent most of my life not having a clue of who I am or what I want. I lived to make others happy, but I wasn’t. On the outside it seemed like I had it all together, but inside I was empty and I didn’t know how or what to fill it with. I had so many questions and no answers. It took a bad accident last year to wake me up and show me that I’m in this world for a reason and I a purpose to fulfill. So I stopped being a victim and running/hiding from my past and took charge of my life. I made a commitment to myself to do whatever it takes to deal with all the unresolved issues holding me back.

I began my quest for the truth by getting very honest with myself and making significant changes in my life. Through my journey I’ve learned so much about myself and how to really connect with others. And I’ve became passionate about helping others on their journey to self love and acceptance.

The primary service that I provide is using a muscle testing technique to clear limiting beliefs, overcome trauma and abuse through forgiveness and release stored emotions in the body. But I also use this technique to test for nutritional deficiencies and interference fields created by scars and traumas on the body.

My biggest challenge around getting my message and business out there is procrastination and lack of focus. I’ve always been the type of person to wait until the last minute to finish something, no matter how important it is to me. I used to say oh I just work better under pressure, which may be true, but it just creates more stress for me and I don’t want to do this anymore. I have so many ideas and visions for my business, but managing my time, sticking to a schedule and actually finishing everything is a different story.

I’m also so used to being in the background and almost invisible. But I’m ready to step into my power and I don’t want to be afraid or intimated by being seen and heard. Through everything I’ve been through I know that it has led me to this point. This is where I’m supposed to be and now I want to take the next step and continue to create the life that I so desire!

Here’s a link to my video http://youtu.be/h_M9Onblbng

Thank you so much for this opportunity Lauren!

Much <3

Kaia Petin November 15, 2011 at 11:57 pm

Hi everyone, my name is Kaia Petin. I’m a business owner, massage therapist, martial artist, artist, writer and techno-phile. I read through the comments here & suddenly realize what a community of “US” there are out there – wow.

My driving purpose and message, like so many others have already said – is to empower others to take better care of themselves. I believe through cultivating awareness, good posture, breath and the basics of how to pay attention to the present moment – we could make a significant dent in healthcare costs & efficacy.

My biggest challenge at this point in the work – is my desire to both DIFFERENTIATE myself for the purpose of growing my own local target-market clientele – and at the same time UNIFY with the message that all of my peers in healing are sharing these days. And at the same time I’m striving for focus, productivity and personal balance. As we all are.

I want to be a voice on the global scale for wellness and well-being, teaching through apps, community, shared wisdom and practical application of healing to life.

Lauren – you’re quite inspiring. Your ability to project your presence with power and the gentle yin of womanhood is AWESOME!!! Thanks for inspiring me to play in your contest!

Peace.

Oh – and procrastination. What’s up Debra – I’m right there with you. :)
